Opposite the jetty on Bribie’s peaceful Passage side, The Book Bucket – Bribie Island is a thriving secondhand bookshop filled with more than 25,000 titles and a reputation for community, conversation, and coastal charm.

The store has grown over the past decade from a humble corner shop into one of the most dynamic secondhand book exchanges in the region.

Long-term locals, families and new arrivals trade and browse daily, sharing their favourite reads and filling their reading lists and shelves anew.

Many come in with boxes of recent releases or even beautifully kept books passed through generations—loved, swapped, and soon to be rediscovered.

Visitors and tourists often find us mid-stroll between beach swims and café stops, drawn in by our relaxed energy and rich mix of fiction and non-fiction titles. 

Come in, explore, and take a story home with you—whether it’s a local favourite or something entirely unexpected.

You'll be notified when it arrives!

Present your proof of purchase to staff when you next visit and your bundle will be waiting for you to collect... yes, it's that easy!

The Book Bucket Bribie Island store receives large deliveries of books to be traded in.

Please visit and speak to staff in-store first to book a time for bulk delivery via the back loading bay.

For security reasons, unscheduled deliveries cannot be received and vehicle parking in the rear loading bay is otherwise unavailable.
