Trade Back
Have books to bring back? Visit any Book Bucket store. They'll have a stamp or label inside and the store credit will be added to your customer account. If you don't have one yet, staff will assist when you arrive.

Trade In
To prepare your own items for trade-in:
Remove pricing stickers/ labels
Check inside for loose contents. Read more about what happens to things left inside: Love Letters, Lost Photos & a Bit of Weed
Give them a dust-off and gentle wipe over

Store credit is added to your customer account when you trade in or trade back your books.

Personally visit any local Book Bucket Store and your account will be accessible for payment towards more books,

Gift Vouchers and a 'Pay onwards' option

Store credit cannot be used and your in-store account cannot be accessed via The Book Bucket Online.

Store credit is not redeemable or transferable

Yes and no.

Each store evolves in it's own way every day.

What's on the shelves reflect what the locals and visitors are reading and trading in.

Likewise, the pricing reflects local supply and demand conditions. So, it's always interesting to visit different stores and check out what's in!

The Book Bucket prioritises circular reading: so trading is our priority; and a purchase price won't be as high as the store credit you'd receive for trading them in instead.

Leaving the area? No longer reading? Consider trading in and converting your store credit to 'gift vouchers' or asking staff to 'pay it onwards'

To Sell Your Books:
Local supply and demand dictates when we are able to buy books for our Stores and we cannot guarantee that we can offer a buy price.

Include these details:
1. Your customer account name at your local Book Bucket Store (if you already have one) and your best daytime contact phone number

2. Suburb & Postcode

3. Estimate of how many books

4. Photos (not blurry) of your collection indicating titles/ genres and quality.
Ideally your images will show show the collection of spines; and an indication of quality (overhead view of book pages and/ or vertical view of pages). Note: we are currently interested in all genres (fiction / non-fiction / classics etc, but not magazines, DVDs, CDs, textbooks or other periodicals)

5. Are you able to deliver your collection to our warehouse? (if yes, we may be more able to buy your collection)

6. Do you require pick up from your location? (Note: currently we require the seller to meet the costs of packing, delivery and pickup. However we may be able to incorporate a pickup cost for sellers located in Nth Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast regions

7. Approximate value you'd like to receive for the collection. We remind sellers that The Book Bucket already sells at comparatively low retail prices, even for secondhand books. In addition, GST is built in to our pricing; as well as a trade-back value of all-but-half their shelf price in-store. In short, you'll need to be realistic
